Mystic Defender est un jeu d'action/plates-formes sur Megadrive. Vous incarnez Joe Yamata dans sa quête pour sauver Alexandra, kidnappée par l'infâme Zao. Il faudra progresser dans les niveaux en vous débarrassant de vos assaillants grâce à la magie. Quatre types de magie sont disponibles et il est possible d'effectuer des attaques chargées pour plus de dégâts.
