Mystic Quest Legend est un épisode hors série de la saga Final Fantasy développé au départ pour le marché américain. Un jeune garçon, a été désigné par l'Oracle pour retrouver les quatre cristaux représentant les éléments afin de rétablir la paix et la lumière dans le monde. Il rencontrera de nombreux personnages au cours de sa quête, à commencer par Kaéli, une jeune bucheronne du village Foresta.
