Shadow Dancer : The Secret of Shinobi est un beat'em all sur Master System. L'histoire se déroule à New York en 1997 et le Maître Ninja Shinobi doit faire face à une nouvelle menace. La discrétion et la rapidité sont des armes redoutables mais Shinobi peut aussi utiliser la magie tandis que son chien le protège contre de nombreux assaillants. Chaque niveau se termine par l'affrontement d'un boss et plusieurs bonus peuvent être ramassés en cours de route.
