Call of Duty : Black Ops Cold War est un jeu de tir à la première personne. Le joueur est plongé dans les profondeurs de la Guerre Froide au début des années 1980. Il se retrouve face à des personnages historiques et des vérités difficiles. La campagne est accompagnée d'un mode multijoueur complet ainsi que d'un mode zombies en coopératif.
