A la tête de chaque armée vous possédez 3 héros au maximum que vous pouvez faire évoluer au fur et à mesure de votre périple. Ces derniers ont la possibilité d'utiliser divers sorts qui peuvent sensiblement améliorer vos chances de victoire sur le champ de bataille. Le titre permet de jouer jusqu'â 12 joueurs en ligne ou en réseau local.
