Metal Gear Solid est un jeu d'infiltration/action sorti sur Gamecube. Dans cet opus (remake de la version Playstation), Solid Snake doit infiltrer Shadow Moses, une base militaire en Alaska, afin de sauver des otages. Le joueur trouve tout au long de l'aventure de nouvelles armes et nouveaux équipements tout en alternant dialogues, séquences d'infiltration et combats contre les boss. Le scénario hollywoodien allié à de nombreuses cinématiques en font un jeu très cinématographique.
