Dans Gex sur Saturn, le joueur incarne Gex, un Gecko fait prisonnier de sa propre TV par l'infâme Rez. Dans ce jeu de plates-formes en 2D les usuelles capacités d'attaque et de saut sont complétées par l'acquisition de certains pouvoirs grâce à des orbes disséminés dans les niveaux. Plusieurs environnements sont disponibles et Gex doit retrouver toutes les télécommandes pour espérer rentrer chez lui.
